Geneva Motor Show

The 81st International Geneva Auto Show is upon us, with car companies from around the world bringing us their concept cars and showing us what they have in store for the years to come.

It is a time of showcasing the achievements and progress made in technology. Also there are some sweet cars.

Everybody wins!

There are a couple cars that are definitely worth mentioning this year, like the XKR-S2 Coupe.

Like the XK this Jag is stunning to look it from any angle, and it will have a 5.0L Supercharged V8. It is sportier looking than the original XK, which is a good thing. Some good work from the boys at Jaguar.

From a supercar perspective, one of the cars to keep an eye on is the new Gumpert Tornate.

The Tornate is better looking then Gumpert's previous car, the Apollo. Even though the back looks a bit strange, when you compare the front of the Tornate to that of the Apollo, it is smoother than the transitions in an Axe commercial.

Evo is reporting that it will have a twin-turbo, 4.2L V8 capable of cranking out around 700 horsepower as well. They go on to mention it should go over 200 mph and hit 60 from a standstill in less than four seconds.

We also get to see the car that takes over from the Murcielago: The Aventador.

First off let me start by saying what a name! Aventador. That sounds like a comic book hero! Or even better, a villain. You've got to hand it to Lamborghini for having some of the best names for their cars (eg. Diablo, Murcielago, Balboni).

As for the car itself, it's exactly what you would expect from Lamborghini. It's beautiful but mean looking, and it blasts out an explosive amount of power.

Topspeed.com puts the specs at 700 horses from the V12 Engine, 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 217mph. All in a car that weighs 1575kg.

It should also be mentioned that it will be all-wheel-drive, a bit of a Lamborghini tradition.

Not bad Lambo, not bad at all.

There is still six more days until the end of the Geneva Motor Show so stay tuned for more.
